Culinary Career Path
If you're interested in a culinary career, you can take many different paths, each with unique opportunities to develop new skills. Vi offers a comprehensive training program to help you build your culinary skills. Additionally, we know that student loan repayments can burden many aspiring chefs. To make things easier, we offer our Culinary Student Loan Repayment Program. This program is designed to help you pay off your student loans while you pursue your culinary dreams.

Aleksandar Dining Room Supervisor, Vi at Grayhawk
Aleksandar started working in dining services at a young age, then after earning a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics he found an opportunity to join the Vi team at our Grayhawk community in 2021 as Dining Room Supervisor. He’s pursuing an MBA from Grand Canyon University while working at Vi. He says his relationships with co-workers and residents make the days fly by. “My favorite part about working at Vi is the communication with residents.”
Angie Director of Dining Services, Vi at La Jolla Village
Angie is our Director of Dining Services for Vi at La Jolla Village and recently achieved her sommelier level one certification. She’s currently studying for her level 2 certification with mentorship from a master sommelier. “Vi encouraged us to develop and wine was already a personal love of mine. We had talked with our residents about enhancing our beverage program. I thought here’s a chance to try something new and take our community to the next level, so I started pursuing my certification. Now I can share that experience with residents and educate our team about wines – with everything from weekly wine pairings to wine dinners, even an upcoming wine festival, and much more.”
